Treasures!

For those of you that know me, you will know that one of my favourite past-times is to spend hours poking around op shops and other second hand places. So, you can understand that I got pretty excited to learn that here in Munich, their Summer festival kicks off with a Flea market! But it didn't end there - we later learnt that this is the biggest flea market held in Europe each year!

There were SO MANY AMAZING THINGS!!!!!! This was a slightly torturous experience, as I knew I couldn't buy anything (no room in the suitcase) so it was a 'window shopping' expedition. Sadly, I didn't feel it was a context to take too many photographs, so I only managed to capture a small snippet of what was actually there.

This is a view from the hill off to the side to give you a bit of an idea of how big it was!

This little boy sat for such a long time, before finally making his decision about what to buy.

Suitcase anyone?

The Flea Market was held in the grounds where Oktoberfest is held, so we had a quick peek inside one of the beer tents on our way out.

In conclusion Chris and I both agreed that we would have to return next year with a shipping container ready to fill and send back :)

A sailor went to see see see

There are some incredible lakes surrounding Munich that sit at the feet of the Alps. Chris and I have been fortunate enough to visit Starnbergersee and Tegernsee so far, and have many more on our list to visit.

We made the trek out to Starnbergersee late one evening, as we had a train ticket that was valid for the day and didn't want to waste it.

It was a such a chilly evening, as you can tell by the cool blue ricocheting off the lake.

Our next lake experience was Tegernsee. It was an amazing place that (to quote 'The Castle') caused one to ask - 'How's the serenity?'

And my favourite photo of the whole day was.............

Hope you are all well!
